What Resonates With You About Early Childhood Public Policy and Advocacy

     The reason I chose the specialty public policy and child advocacy is because I am passionate at all children being served fairly.  I believe that all children should receive a good education no matter what income level they may come from.  Because I believe this I know that the home environment is important as well, so I believe it is important  to advocate for the well being of children's families.
     Advocates are essential in the field of early childhood especially because children voices can not be heard yet.  We have to stand up and speak for them.  Children also do not know what is best for them, as adults we are able help make the lives of children better.
     Three goals that I have as I continue is in this journey is to

• Stay aware of issues that affect children
• Learn more and become involved in groups that advocate for children
• Gain greater understanding of becoming involved in writing policies that affect children
